HistoryHistory

Ships, maschines and more .....

The company was founded by Ignaz Mayer in the year 1840 and by the year 1894, employed some 650 workers were employed at the shipyard in Linz.

During the time between the two world wars, the company became famous for the Climax-engines and was nationalized after W.W.II. Numerous orders from Eastern Europe, especially from the former Soviet Union, kept the orderbooks full until approximately 1992 when orders from the former SU fell by almost 100%.

The radical change in the states from Eastern Europe transfers the operations to private Owners and they seperated the firm in two parts (shipyard and maschinery).

In the 150 years of business, the shipyard has set more than 1500 different boats afloat.
